Shane Carey & Barbara Hetherington will be inspecting nominated alpacas at select venues across Australia.
Important deadline reminder:
Please submit your auction nomination by 1st April, or at least one week before your local inspection date (whichever comes first), to ensure your alpaca(s) are eligible for inspection.

Auction Process
1. Request your nomination pack from the AAA office. tanya@alpaca.asn.au
2. Submit your nominated alpaca(s) to the AAA office with the entry fee. Make sure your submission is complete, accurate and presents your alpaca to the highest standard meeting all nomination guidelines. All nominations must be received at least a week prior to your local inspection date.
3. You will be notified by 8th June if your nomination has been successful and is included in the 2026 Elite Auction.
4. An online version of the catalogue will be available to download and will be circulated frequently. Individual alpaca lot promotion will be shared regularly on social media and internally via email
5. There will be a hardcopy of the auction alpacas available in the National show catalogue. You will receive a banner to showcase your alpaca which will be situated outside of your pen. Rolling announcements will be made throughout the show.
6. Alpaca inspections will commence at 6pm ahead of the Auction.

Nomination packs and key info:
Everyone is invited to nominate an alpaca for the auction.
While quality is our highest priority, selections will be made to ensure a balanced and diverse offering, including huacaya and suri, males and females, in a range of colours. This auction is for everyone.
1. Complete your nomination form carefully
All sections must be fully completed and meet the nomination guidelines. Alpacas may not be considered if information is missing or requirements are not met.
2. Multiple nominations are welcome
You may nominate more than one alpaca for consideration.
3. Fees
– Entry fee: $150 per alpaca
– Auction fee: 10% commission on the final sale price
·4. Each nomination must include:
– All available fleece statistics
– Show history
– A 100-word description
– A clear profile photo showing conformation
– Head photo
– Fleece photo
– Teeth photo
– Marketing photos
5. Quality standard
All alpacas nominated must be of the highest calibre.
6. Reserve price
We ask that vendors set a sensible and realistic reserve price.
7. Auction inspection & event format
At the conclusion of Day 2 of the National Alpaca Show judging, a formal auction lot inspection will be held, leading into our Soirée. Once all lots have been inspected by prospective bidders, the auction will commence.
2025 National Show
The most anticipated event on the Australian showing calendar is fast-approaching!
The show will be held at the Prince of Wales Showground, 42-72 Holmes Rd, Bendigo from the 8th to 10th of August 2025.
The halter judges are our AAA judges Peter Kennedy Gane and Shane Carey.
The fleece judge is our AAA judge Natasha Clark.
