Pitchingga Ridge will participate as a host farm during National Alpaca Week, 2024, when visitors will be able spend time asking all the questions they have about alpacas and the alpaca industry.
Visitors will have the opportunity to:
– learn first-hand about alpaca behaviour, alpaca handling, husbandry practices and management
– learn about handling facilities, farm layouts, suitable pasture and feed requirements
– hear of the value-adding processes and see the magnificent product made from alpaca fleece, one of the softest, most beautiful of all natural fibres.
– compare the two different fleece types – huacaya and suri
– talk about owning alpacas and participating in the alpaca industry, either as a hobby or with the view to running a serious business enterprise.
– spend time among these beautiful, unique animals and see how working with alpacas can be a total family affair.
