South Australian Young Judges & Paraders Championships

The Agricultural Societies Council of SA (also known as SA Country Shows) are a proud to give South Australian Youth the chance to represent SA in the Agricultural Shows of Australia National Young Judges and Paraders Championships. Alpaca Animal & Fleece Young Judges is one of the ten competitions that makes up these championships.

SA Country Shows works with the Royal Adelaide Shows and animal societies in order to find a South Australian resident aged between 15 and 25 (as of the 1st of May in the year of the State Final), who has knowledge and skills in their chosen area. The State Competitions give youth the chance to showcase and test their skills against qualified agricultural sector judges and peers alike.

The winner, or highest placing eligible entrant is then given flights, accommodation and uniform so that they can attend the ASA National Finals. SA Country Shows works to give the representative training opportunities in the lead up to the Nationals including judging opportunities and public speaking training. The 2022 Representative will be travelling to the Launceston Royal in October of 2023 to compete for the National Title.

There is a page dedicated to Alpacas on the National Website https://agshowsaustralia.org.au/educational-resources/alpaca-judging/
