eAlpaca goes live tomorrow Important Information

At last, the wait is over - the AAA’s new on-line registry system eAlpaca will Go Live tomorrow - 9th November at 11.00am AEDT!

In the past week you will have received two emails about the roll-out of functionality, training/support, access and features when eAlpaca goes live.  If you have mislaid these emails, they are both available in the Notices section on the home page of the AAA website www.alpaca.asn.au or contact the office who will send them to you again. 

This page provides information on three important documents linked to the going live of eAlpaca:

The Board has updated the old IAR Bylaws into an up-to-date and easy to understand set of Rules, which govern all the key features relating to the IAR, and which have been incorporated in the system design of eAlpaca.  A copy of the new Rules is attached and they are also available to download from the Members Section of the AAA website in the AAA Governance section.  We encourage you to have a read of the Rules, particularly as there is important new information on topics such Colours & Markings, Use of IAR tags, Inactive Males and more…

With the launch of eAlpaca we are able to introduce all the new fees (some of which have been in place since August), including:

  • Free recording of Inactive Males
  • Fee reductions for cria registrations based on the number you register in a year
  • Early bird fees for animal transfers completed within 30 days
  • Reduced transfer fees for batches of 10 and over active animals

As eAlpaca allows Members to undertake most of their own transactions on-line, please note that there will be a 25% surcharge (and no bulk discounts/early bird fees) if you want the staff to undertake transactions which you could do yourself.  There will also be a $22 fee for the printing and postage of a registration certificate, as these are available for you to download and print yourself on demand.

With the introduction of eAlpaca there are a few new features and terms to get used to.  These are described in the attached document and will also be available for reference via eAlpaca.
 
We are confident that eAlpaca is going to transform the way you conduct your alpaca registry business – there are bound to be some teething issues and these are part of the learning and refinement process – we are looking forward to working with you all to make eAlpaca the best alpaca registry and on-line system in the world!
